Individual Applicants

• To complete the application form you will need your National Insurance Number and Postcode.
• Once you have submitted your application, we will consider your eligibility for a Blue Badge. If we decide that you maybe entitled to a Badge we will post you a copy of the application form, which you must sign and date and return it with 2 passport sized photographs (signed on the back), and any necessary evidence asked for in the envelope provided. (A photocopy of evidence is acceptable).
• A fee of £2.00 must be enclosed. Cheques or Postal Orders should be made payable to the Department for Regional Development. Cash should not be sent through the post.
• You will be informed if you are/are not entitled to a Badge within 3 weeks of the date of receipt of your signed application.
• However, if information to support your application has to be requested from your doctor you will be informed if you are/are not entitled to a Badge on receipt of that information.

Support Organisation Applicants

Organisations which care for disabled people may be eligible for a Badge.

• A fee of £2.00 should be enclosed for each vehicle applied for.
• The stamp or logo of your organisation must accompany the application along with any evidence requested.
• Cheques or Postal Orders should be made payable to the Department for Regional Development

Data Protection Statement.

1. In order to comply with the Data Protection Act 1998, the information that is provided for this application will be processed and held by the Department for Regional Development (DRD) Roads Service for the purposes of managing the Blue Badge system. The information you provide may be checked by DRD Roads Service, the Northern Ireland Social Security Agency, the Department of Work and Pensions, your local Health & Social Services Trust and/or your doctor to make sure of your eligibility for the issue of a Blue Badge.
2. Future checks may be carried out to make sure that you are still eligible. The DRD Roads Service its agents and Car Park Enforcement will use the data collected to administer the Blue Badge system.
3. The DRD Roads Service will investigate all cases of alleged fraud. The information you have provided may be used in conducting these investigations.
